January Prayer Prompts
Theme: Spiritual Growth | Based on 1 Peter 2:1-3
"Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like
newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you
have tasted that the Lord is good."
January 4 - Pray for awareness of any malice in your heart. Ask God to reveal hidden resentment or
bitterness toward others and to replace it with His love.
January 5 - Confess any areas of deceit or dishonesty in your life. Pray for integrity in all your words
and actions, both public and private.
January 6 - Ask God to expose hypocrisy in your spiritual life. Pray for authenticity—that your private
devotion would match your public faith.
January 7 - Bring before God any envy you harbor toward others' blessings, gifts, or circumstances.
Pray for contentment and celebration of others' joys.
January 8 - Reflect on your speech. Pray for forgiveness for times you've spoken negatively about
others, and ask for words that build up rather than tear down.
January 9 - Like a newborn baby, pray for a renewed hunger for God's Word. Ask Him to increase your
desire to read and meditate on Scripture.
January 10 - Pray for discernment to recognize "pure spiritual milk"—truth that comes from God
versus teachings that might mislead you.
January 11 - Thank God for the ways you've already grown in your faith. Pray for continued spiritual
maturity in the year ahead.
January 12 - Reflect on what it means that "the Lord is good." Spend time thanking God for specific
ways you've experienced His goodness.
January 13 - Pray for consistency in your spiritual disciplines. Ask God to help you establish regular
rhythms of prayer, reading, and worship.
January 14 - Ask God to show you areas where you've stopped growing. Pray for fresh passion and
curiosity about Him.
January 15 - Pray for humility like a newborn—totally dependent on God, without pretense or self-
sufficiency.
January 16 - Confess any pride that hinders your spiritual growth. Pray for teachability and openness to
correction.
January 17 - Pray for someone you know who needs spiritual nourishment. Ask God to draw them to
His Word and grow their faith.
January 18 - Reflect on your spiritual appetite. What are you "craving" most? Pray for your desires to
align with God's.
January 19 - Ask God to remove any obstacle keeping you from growing—doubt, busyness,
distractions, or comfortable complacency.
January 20 - Pray for your church community. Ask that together you would pursue spiritual growth and
encourage one another.
January 21 - Thank God that growth is a process. Pray for patience with yourself and trust in His timing
for your maturity.
January 22 - Pray specifically about putting off slander. Ask for help in speaking truthfully and
graciously about others.
January 23 - Like a baby needs milk to survive, acknowledge your absolute need for God. Pray with
honest dependence on Him.
January 24 - Pray for protection from false teaching or spiritual counterfeits. Ask for wisdom to
recognize pure truth.
January 25 - Reflect on how you've "tasted that the Lord is good." Pray that this experience would fuel
your desire for more of Him.
January 26 - Ask God to reveal any area where you're spiritually stagnant. Pray for revival and renewed
vitality in your faith.
January 27 - Pray for those who are new believers. Ask that they would develop healthy spiritual
appetites from the beginning.
January 28 - Thank God for His Word as spiritual nourishment. Pray that it would produce lasting
growth and transformation in you.
January 29 - Pray about spiritual growth in a specific area: patience, kindness, self-control, or another
fruit of the Spirit.
January 30 - Ask God for a vision of who He's calling you to become. Pray for courage to pursue that
growth, even when it's difficult.
January 31 - Close the month by praising God for being the source of all spiritual life and growth.
